Olympia, the ancient sanctuary and birthplace of the Olympic Games is minutes away by car. There, in the museum amongst a plethora of important exhibits stands the famous statue of Hermes of Praxiteles.

Even the barren and rocky landscape of Vasses hides a treasure, the temple of Apollo, one of the most important and most impressive temples of antiquity a work of the architect of the Parthenon Iktinos.

Take a tour of the archaeological site of Ilida and visit the museum in the town of Pyrgos.

Visit the castle of Chlemoutsi in Kyllini, one of the most important and certainly the best preserved forts of Greece, a fine example of architecture of the Frankish era in the Peloponnese.

Another venue worth seeing is the Gothic church of St. Sophia in Andravida. The various monasteries of the region also deserve a visit, some of the most noteworthy are the Monastery of Kremasti, the Monastery of Panagia Sepesiotissa at the acropolis (ancient city) of Alifeira, the Monastery of Our Lady Skafidiotissa, the Fragkapidima Monastery and the Byzantine Monastery of Frankavilla.
